Electro music concert With DJ Alex Millan

The HCMC Antenna of the French Institute in Vietnam and the Institute for Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF) invite you to an outdoor electro music concert around the talented virtuoso turntablist DJ Alex Millan at Idécaf (31, Thai Van Lung, District 1) on February 16th, at 7pm.

Native from Montpellier (South of France), Alex Millan quickly discovers in music a source of inspiration. At the age of 16, he sets up a Pop Rock band, in which he takes part as the singer. Influenced by groups such as Depeche Mode, The Sisters of Mercy, Rage against the Machine or Noir Désir, he plays in various concert halls in Montpellier. 

Alex Millan began in small electro venues in his hometown. In 2000, he joined the French famous club the Villa Rouge, known to host the biggest names of the world electronic scene. He then shared the decks with Laurent Garnier, Sven Väth, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Derrick May… 

At the end of 2003, pushed by his inspirations, Alex Millan started composing, and signed in April 2004 under the Parisian label “Hypnotic Music”. His title "Maria Rosa" has been a success. Alex Millan quickly becomes fascinated by the production world and is then known as an artist in perpetual search of innovation. He accumulates the releases under various labels and his titles are often welcomed by the critic. 

2008 is the turnaround year. Alex Millan’s career took a new step when he signed under the prestigious German label Kompakt. Speicher 62 represents many years of work and brings a new breath to his career. His title "Ironik", co‐written with Lorent Air, appears among the Electro / Techno hits of the year 2008.

In the meantime, he realizes 9 other releases under different foreign labels and opens his music to the international scene: 3rd Wave Music (Germany), Orbiter Music (Germany), Style of Life Records (Spain), Frequenza Records (Italy). 

Alex Millan is more and more sought and signs on other important labels: Craft Music (Germany), DJ Center (France), Renaissance Recordings (United Kingdom), Catwalk Records (Germany).
